Pregnancy can be a joyous, yet uncertain, time in a woman's life.

My goal is to be available during your pregnancy to help you inform yourself of all the choices you have at your birth and to be with you to offer emotional support, physical comfort measures and access to information during your labor.

I believe that birth is a healthy, natural process that has worked since the beginning of time. Statisics show that women who are attended by a trained labor support person are:

• 26% less likely to give birth by cesarean section
  
• 41% less likely to give birth with vacuum extraction or forceps
  
• 28% less likely to use any pain medications and
  
• 33% less likely to be dissatisfied with or negatively rate their birth experience (Hodnett and colleagues 2004)

My doula services include:

• 24/7 email and phone support
  
• 3 prenatal appointments, including 1 appointment with your doctor or midwife
  
• 1 week reserved on-call time surrounding your due date
  
• Informational support, including a list of local pregnancy and postpartum resources
  
• Continuous support throughout your labor, including a minimum of 1 hour postpartum
  
• Initial breastfeeding support
  
• 1 postpartum appointment
  
• A written birth story on “baby book” quality paper
